Tony Hawkhead was appointed Chief Executive of the Groundwork Federation in September 1996. He is also non-executive director of Youth Works, a joint venture between Crime Concern, Groundwork and Marks & Spencer.
Before Groundwork, Tony worked for five years as Chief Executive of the the East London Partnership; a private sector led and funded organisation working to help regenerate Hackney, Newham and Tower Hamlets - the heart of London's East End.
Tony was awarded a CBE in December 2002 for services to the environment.
